Gil Rubio joined Merrill Lynch in 2003, he has more than 25 years of experience in the international financial markets having worked in Chicago, New York, London and Panama.
Gil holds a B.S. in Economics from Villanova University and an MBA from DePaul University.
Gil holds the CFP® certification, which means he has met education, examination, experience and ethics requirements as required by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. The CFP® certification marks represent a high level of competency, ethics and professionalism, they are the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.
Gil holds the Chartered Retirement Planninig Counselor(SM) designation to assist individuals on their pre- and post-retirement needs.
Gil holds the Certified Special Needs Advisor (CSNA) professional designation, a program that provides Financial Advisors with a broad understanding of special needs issues (financial, legal and disability-related) and prepares them to deliver holistic solutions based upon the clients risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity needs and overall investment goals. The Certified Special Needs Advisor designation is an internal Merrill Lynch self-study curriculum based on a variety of wealth management topics and a course exam.
Gil resides in Summit, New Jersey and Panama City, Panama, with his wife Rita and their son Gil Jose. Gil is an active member of the American Red Cross, the Panama Lions Club and the National Society of Hispanic MBA's. Gil is also active as a parent at Blair Academy in Blairstown New Jersey.
