Garrie is a Financial Advisor in the Bedminster, NJ office. Before joining Merrill Lynch in 2011, he was an Equity Portfolio Risk Analyst and worked directly with Portfolio Managers at BlackRock. In this role, his team covered more than $500 billion in equity assets. As a Financial Advisor, Garrie now brings that same analytical expertise to individual clients.
Garrie is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor? (CRPC). To earn the CRPC® designation, Garrie completed an approved educational program and passed a rigorous examination. He also adheres to a professional Code of Ethics and he fulfills annual continuing education requirements to remain aware of current planning strategies and financial trends.
He currently serves as Chairman of dfree™ at First Baptist Church in Somerset, NJ. This program was recently featured on CNN with Soledad O’Brien. Garrie has also served on the Executive PTO Board for Franklin Park School.
Garrie was a 2009 Leadership Somerset Fellow — one of 30 leaders selected in Somerset County. The program teaches leadership skills through community involvement and by learning about county government and its history. He was a 2009 NYU Stern Business Plan Challenge Participant, where he worked on a social venture to assist people who are unemployed.
Garrie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Johnson & Wales University, Providence, RI. While in school, he was selected as an intern to Governor Almond of Rhode Island in 2000.
