For decades, The Johnson Group has developed integrated wealth management strategies for multiple generations of affluent families, now residing in 27 states.
On behalf of this select circle of clients – including executives at large companies, legal and medical professionals, and business owners – the team can offer an extra measure of attention to help clients enhance, preserve and, ultimately, transfer wealth.
“For wealthy individuals nearing retirement, we can develop strategies designed for what I call ‘sustainable lifestyles.’ This demands an array of calculations and considerations that can help move clients toward the retirement they’ve imagined. For some, it’s retiring to their lake cabins or building new ones. For others, it’s moving out of state or being able to travel and visit family,” explains Mark Johnson.
Before allocations and investments are considered, Mark and his team feel privileged to spend significant time understanding each client’s goals, time horizons and liquidity needs. Mark says, “Appreciating what each client wants to achieve, tax status, risk tolerance and family dynamics is ‘job one.’”
As a Portfolio Manager in the Merrill Lynch Personal Investment Advisory® (PIA) Program, Mark can manage customized investment strategies and implement proprietary model portfolios, as well as provide traditional advice and guidance. Client portfolios may include equities, tax-free bonds, structured investments and income-seeking investments. Aware that transparency is critical in building clients’ trust and confidence, The Johnson Group can present a detailed rationale with each customized strategy.
“Our strategies are sophisticated, but no more so than our clientele. Our ability to coordinate their liabilities with a Bank of America Wealth Management Banker, or to call upon a client’s tax and legal professionals, is as vital as managing assets. We want clients’ hard work to pay off, so they can make memories with their families,” Mark adds.
