Highly regarded by a distinguished and loyal clientele, Larry Barocas brings a rare combination of experience and perspective to the goals-based strategies he builds for a limited number of clients.
Today, the Barocas Group serves the specialized financial needs of male and female C-suite executives, investment bankers, physicians, attorneys and accountants (many with an entrepreneurial spirit), wealthy business owners, as well as retirees who’ve sold a business, concentrated stock or exercised stock options.
“Most clients are quite accomplished and wish to accomplish more. Despite their wealth, some wrestle with the right balance – for enjoying it, passing it along, funding a grandchild’s education, or supporting a cause. Tax efficiency can also be critical when clients don’t have large retirement accounts. That’s why I coordinate with their accountants and attorneys, to align our efforts,” Larry explains.
With a majority of clients asking Larry to manage their investments, he still prefers that they understand what they own, and why. “Having worked in China, Costa Rica, Spain and Switzerland, I can help clients gain a deeper understanding of the global dynamics affecting their portfolios,” Larry says. “I see my role as allaying client concerns, and earning the trust they place in me.” To help mitigate risk and strive for tax efficiency, Larry prefers alternative investments (including private equity), municipal bonds, selected equities, and other non-correlated investments.
Beyond investments, the team focuses on clients’ liabilities, trust and insurance needs – to help enhance their wealth, lifestyles and legacies. Frequently, access is provided to Bank of America, N.A. for residential and securities-based lending, and other services.
Clients’ grown children are also encouraged to attend “Merrill Lynch Boot Camp” to expand their knowledge of managing wealth. “It’s gratifying when clients ask me to meet with their children. Working one-on-one with multiple generations is the best way I know to serve individual and family objectives
