Providing clients with seasoned wealth management knowledge and concierge-level attention, Hurd Jorgensen serves what has become a loyal group of individual and corporate clients in ten states.
With a philosophy that encourages frequent client contact and simple, practical strategies to complex challenges, the team has earned the privilege to work with many entrepreneurs (on their business and personal finances), non-profit organizations, corporate executives, physicians, second- and third-generation clients, as well as with women in transition.
Hurd Jorgensen is guided by three principles: establishing a proper legal framework with the right types of accounts, planning for tax implications, and developing a customized, yet disciplined investment strategy. To accomplish its mission, the team works together with clients and their attorneys and/or tax advisors – aligning all client interests from the outset. Simultaneously, the team works to gain a clear understanding of each client – identifying, prioritizing and quantifying goals, time horizons and tolerance for risk.
Taking full advantage of Merrill Lynch’s world-class research and resources, the team seeks to bring each client a good night’s sleep, only recommending taking on risk that is commensurate with specific goals. For individual clients, Hurd Jorgensen is personal and proactive. Whether or not an account is discretionary, clients are frequently contacted for portfolio re-balancing, tax and debt “check-in,” and to help the team stay updated on beneficiaries and other estate matters. Hurd Jorgensen is vigilant in evaluating and reminding clients about the need for insurance (including life and long-term care), 529 college-savings plans, home financing refinancing and for timely steps in minimizing tax consequences. For widowed and divorced women the team helps prioritize their needs, focusing on Social Security issues, for example, bringing together attorneys and recommendations that ease any burden. The team helps many clients by meeting with adult children, when needs change.
Working with businesses and non-profits, Hurd Jorgensen designs 401(k) and other plans, meets with key executives, addresses their fiduciary responsibilities, and personally guides employees to help them appreciate and understand their options. Frequently, the team brings in Merrill Lynch specialists and others to help a business owner establish a sensible strategy for balancing personal wealth, retirement goals and business finances.
Whether traveling around California and beyond to visit clients or making dozens of phone calls on evenings or weekends to consult with others, Hurd Jorgensen firmly believes in going the extra mile.
For clients of every age – individuals, businesses, and organizations – Hurd Jorgensen has earned a trusted reputation as a “go-to” resource that continuously educates and provides timely suggestions. Ready and reachable, the team is proud of its track record and feels especially rewarded in helping clients achieve a wide range of personal and professional goals.
